Privacy Policy

Your photos and videos belong to you. This policy explains what ReNew Album processes to provide review, organization, account, and subscription features, and what it does not do.

01

Scope and operator

Welcome to ReNew Album (the “Product” or “Service”). ReNew Album is operated by Hong Kong KDream Future Software Co., Limited (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and is available through iOS, Android, Windows, macOS clients and our official website. This Privacy Policy applies whenever you use ReNew Album through these channels.

ReNew Album is local-first by design. Photos, videos, album indexes, and EXIF media data remain on your device by default and are not uploaded to servers operated by ReNew Album. Third-party account authentication, subscription entitlement, app distribution and payment, and website hosting services process only the information required for their functions under their own privacy policies.

02

Information we process

Photos, videos, and metadata on your device

After you grant photo or video access, the client may read photos, videos, thumbnails, capture dates, media types, dimensions, duration, favorite status, and EXIF data supplied by your device, such as camera information and coordinates. This supports review, browsing by day, favorites, sharing, and deletion. This media and its album index are primarily processed on your device and are not uploaded to servers operated by ReNew Album.

Account and session information

You can use core local album features without signing in. When you sign in, a third-party account authentication service processes the email address you provide, verification results, an account identifier, and session information for sign-in, account security, subscription linking, and account deletion status.

Subscription and purchase information

When you purchase or restore a purchase, third-party subscription entitlement and app distribution and payment services process an app user identifier, product identifier, transaction receipt, subscription period, renewal status, and entitlement status. We retain a ReNew Album subscription entitlement record but do not receive your full card number, payment password, or payment account credentials.

Product analytics and basic logs

The client enables product analytics only after you successfully sign in or voluntarily enable online location lookup. Earlier activity is not sent later. Analytics may include an anonymous ID, session ID, signed-in user ID, event name, platform, and limited action properties such as setting states and control identifiers. We use this information to understand feature use, troubleshoot issues, and improve the Product.

When you visit the website, third-party hosting and analytics services process network and usage information required for hosting, security, traffic analytics, and performance measurement. This may include IP address, browser and device type, visit time, page path, referrer, approximate region, response status, and web performance metrics. App distribution services may also provide aggregated crash and performance reports.

03

Device permissions and online location lookup

Permission or capabilityPurposeRequired
Photo and video accessRead, display, favorite, share, and organize system album contentRequired for album features
Delete or move to Recently DeletedAsk the operating system to delete or trash media only after your confirmationRequired for deletion
Network accessLoad in-app purchase products, sign in, purchase or restore purchases, sync entitlements, send enabled analytics, and access the websiteRequired
Online location lookupAfter you explicitly enable it, use native reverse geocoding to turn local coordinates into a place nameOptional and off by default

Network access is necessary to load in-app purchase products and use connected features such as sign-in and purchase restoration. If network access is denied, some local album features remain available, but connected features cannot load. Online location lookup is off by default and does not connect merely to display a local coordinate. You can disable it or withdraw permissions in Product or system settings.

Photos, videos, and EXIF may contain sensitive information such as faces or precise location. ReNew Album processes this locally by default. Media or location information is handled by another service only when you choose to share media or enable online location lookup. Review the content and recipient before proceeding.

04

Local and server storage and retention

Album indexes, favorite status, browsing preferences, and pending deletion queues are stored on your device by default. Uninstalling the Product or clearing app data may remove these local records but does not delete original media from your system album. Sharing, deletion, and cloud album synchronization are performed by the operating system or an app you choose and may be retained under their rules.

Our server-side data is limited to what is necessary for accounts, subscriptions, and Product operation: email account and session data, ReNew Album account deletion status, a subscription entitlement record, and analytics generated after the activation conditions above are met. We retain this information only as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain security, and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it when continued retention is unnecessary.

An account deletion request signs you out immediately and begins a 15-day cooling-off period. Signing in during that period cancels the request. After the period ends, ReNew Album removes its subscription record, anonymizes linked analytics, and retains a non-recoverable deletion status record. Because the underlying sign-in identity may be shared with other products we operate, deleting a ReNew Album account does not delete that shared identity or data in other products. Contact support separately if you want the shared identity reviewed; we will verify your identity and explain the effect on other products.

05

Third-party services

Depending on the features you use, necessary information may be processed by the following categories of third-party services:

  • Account authentication and data services for email verification, sessions, account status, subscription records, and enabled product analytics;
  • Subscription entitlement services for product information, transaction receipts, anonymous app user identifiers, and entitlement management;
  • App distribution and payment platforms for app downloads, in-app purchases, renewals, purchase restoration, and refunds;
  • Website hosting and analytics services for hosting, security logs, traffic analytics, and performance measurement;
  • Operating system and native geocoding services for album access, sharing, deletion, trash, and place-name lookup that you enable.

We do not provide your photos, videos, EXIF, or complete album index to these services. When you use system sharing or online location lookup, the relevant content is processed under the rules of the system or service you selected. Each provider’s own privacy policy governs its processing.

06

Security and disclosure boundaries

We use platform permission isolation, secure transport, access controls, data minimization, and native system confirmations to reduce risk. We do not sell your personal information or use photos, videos, or EXIF for advertising profiles or model training.

We do not share, transfer, or publicly disclose personal information to unrelated parties unless you authorize it, it is necessary to provide the Service or fulfill your request, or law, courts, or regulators require it. If a merger, acquisition, or restructuring changes the data controller, we will provide legally required notice and require the successor to continue appropriate protections.

No security measure can guarantee absolute safety. If a security incident may affect your rights, we will take remedial steps and provide notice as required by applicable law.

07

Your rights

You can review or withdraw photo and video permissions, change local preferences, undo pending deletion marks, manage system Recently Deleted or trash content, and manage, cancel, or request refunds for subscriptions through the applicable app distribution and payment platform.

For information processed by ReNew Album servers, you may ask to access, correct, delete, or copy your information, request an explanation of processing, or delete your ReNew Album account. We may need to verify your identity and generally respond within 15 business days after receiving a complete request or explain why more time is needed.

For information processed directly by third-party authentication, subscription, app distribution and payment, website hosting and analytics, or system services, you may also exercise rights under the applicable provider’s policy.

08

Policy updates and contact

We may update this Policy when Product features, third-party services, or applicable law change. We will provide notice of material changes through the Product, our website, or app release notes. The updated Policy takes effect on the date shown on this page.
